For the first time ever I consider to use a novel-writing software, because the Draws story&universe become so damn complex, I lose track of the details *palms face*

Anyone any recommendations for free Windows software for me?
Does anyone know http://storybook.intertec.ch/ ?

(Oh, and all Pike/Kirk fans should run and read [info]severinne's newest story Reconciliation!)

Title: Chapters
Pairing: Kirk/McCoy
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Not mine.  Also, not betaed.
Notes: For the superfantastic [info]northatlantic on the eve of her birthday.  Lady, this is silly fluff and you deserve so much more, but hopefully this little token will be an acceptable stand-in in the interim.  And hearts and hearts.

All stories are love stories. )

Reading People’s Faces - Tattoos, dueling scars, and other rational acquisitions

Also, this paragraph reminds me so badly of Kirk:

Schelling’s 1960 book about the nuclear arms race, 'The Strategy of Conflict', centers around those paradoxical situations when it makes sense to impose limits on yourself in order to improve your negotiating position. His famous "madman theory" holds that a "careless or even self-destructive attitude toward injury... can be a genuine strategic advantage."

So when I get out to my car this morning and find that it won't budge from its parking spot because the fucking shovel BROKE before I could actually finish digging it out...do I walk the 1.3 miles to Metro (most likely in the road as the sidewalks weren't cleared as of yesterday afternoon), or do I call work and whine and take a sick day?

We shall see, flist. We shall see.

Also I left a bottle of milk in the backseat and it has probably frozen and exploded. Also-also I just remembered that I left my iPod in the backseat as well. How close, I cannot recall.

F. M. L.

ETA: I chose Door #2, and the milk didn't explode. Dad's going to drive over with his non-broken shovel later (even though he has thiiiiings to do and he doesn't feeeeeeeel like it).

O_O
Oh wow, I just watched the movie "Carriers", with Chris Pine - it was good. And shaking - I mean, it shook me, alright. I think the silence did everything. And well, I knew I was up for an emotional roller-coaster, or maybe just a series of moments of dread and sorrow and painful things happening, and the movie didn't disappoint (...which yes, sounds a bit weird).

I liked the use of in media res, and I think they used it very well, adding on each details needed to understand the plot in just the right amounts, and keeping it that way, details, not things that hits you over the head in the shape of billboards saying "Hey! This is what you need to know!" And I liked the acting (whoo! Chris Pine might even be going places! He did good here, I think). And the array of colours. And even the shaky-cam. Yup. I've been waiting for a while to see this movie, never being in the right mood for it, and it didn't let me down. Nice job, people *thumbs up*

Today, I broke down in tears no less than twice trying to get a prescription filled.

I'm responsible for a dog altercation (everyone and everything is okay, I'm just ashamed of myself).

And now, my showerhead fell down on me while I was taking a shower.

I'm really scared to go to work tomorrow. If this energy is following me, I will probably lose my job.

Oh god, oh god.

tl;dr. Packing, stuff, ramblings on tomorrow )

== ETA 2 == Just checked the Schipol records - yesterday's flight to Bucharest had a three hour delay. Joy.

==ETA 3 == Newsflash, my country's authorities are counselling train travellers to be prepared for the long haul and the possibility of trains stopping in the middle of nowhere. I just might get home Sunday at noon. Man, I'm curious how this whole thing will turn out.
